Spring, the season of coming back to life! At Holy Ghost, we celebrate life with the Feast of Easter. Holy Week was particularly inspiring, with the celebrations of the commemoration of Last Supper and of the Passion of Christ on Good Friday. Then, on the occasion of the Easter Vigil, we had the blessing of fire outside the church, where the priest lit the Pascal Candle. This represents the Risen Christ, the Light of the World. On the same night, we had the blessing of water that will be used for baptisms along the year.
What a blessing to have had dedicated priests, faithful altar boys and choir members for all of these celebrations. We are also grateful to all parishioners who dedicate themselves to keep our church clean and ornate with flowers.
After a beautiful month of May – the Month of Mary – we will be looking forward to June – month of flowers, sun, the start of summer and especially… holidays. For Sunday, June 10, the feast of Corpus Christi, we are planning a procession in the streets. It will be followed by our parish picnic. How pleasant it will be for the families and parishioners to meet and celebrate the joy of sharing good time together and have fun with the young people.
