If you haven’t yet checked out Celebration! Church (C!C) – this summer would be the time to do it. This year marks the first we will be operating as an independent, officially charitable and non-profit corporation, and we are excited. In addition to our splendid summer calendar, we are even opening a church office at Saint Paul University (third floor, Frambois Building). But we are probably most excited about our summer event line-up.
We will be seeing you at the Farmers’ Market every Saturday of the season at Celebration! Station, the kids’ corner. This summer, the Station will have entertaining weekly themes to give your kids something fun to do as a part of your visit to the Market.
In June, we will see you at the Main Event. In July, we are working with the CAG and local businesses to throw a community block party for Canada Day (stay tuned for details). Also in July, we are hosting a community service camp for youth where they will be providing free labour for local need-based projects. If you see a “World Changers” sign, feel free to honk or stop by to say hello.
All of these activities are in addition to our regular program of men’s and women’s ministry events, outdoor services, playgroups and more.
Most importantly, the meeting time and location of C!C services are to change this summer. Until July 1, we will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday evenings in the Saint Paul University Amphitheatre, as we previously have. This has been a unique and refreshing service time for years, and has allowed us to minister and build community in many ways to many people.
As our church has matured and our demographic grown to include many young families, we have decided to move to a more traditional service time. Starting July 8, we will be meeting at 10 a.m. in the Normandin Room at Saint Paul University.
The Normandin Room is most easily accessed through the large wooden doors along Main Street, near the Children’s Garden, and is located on the second floor. We will still be offering our Celebration! Station children’s church, and our greeters will be stationed to help you find your way around.
We sincerely hope to see you at an event or a service soon. It’s a pleasure to be a part of the neighbourhood. For more information on C!C, visit www.celebrationchurch.ca or call 613-220-3136.
